Swimming competition is split into a “short course” and a “long course” season. Short course Season runs from September to March, generally using 25-yard pools. Long course Season runs from April to August, generally using 50-meter pools. There are a number of meets during the season that your swimmer is expected to attend. Group Meet schedules for the current season are posted on the Home page of the website. Snapper and Terrapins should follow the Novice Meet Schedules. These meets usually take place on a Friday night in lieu of practice or on weekend mornings. The meets are generally scheduled about 3- 4 weeks apart. Most meets are home meets or with in a 45-minute drive.
There are usually four Try-Outs per year. These take place in Mid-September, Early November, Early January, and Mid-April. A swimmer can join the club by either attending a New Swimmer Try-out session (see website for exact date and time) or contact one of the Head Coaches: Andy Carlisle or Jeanine Serrano.
