Tigard-Tualatin Swim Club

Board Of Directors

The administrative functions of the club are overseen by the Board of Directors which acts pursuant to TTSC’s bylaws.  A copy of the bylaws is available on this website.  The Board of Directors exists to ensure the continuation and excellence of TTSC by performing necessary business functions; assisting and supporting the coaching staff; and communicating with swimmers, parents and coaches. The Board consists of parents elected for one-year terms.  The elections for Board positions are held annually in July.   A list of the current members and their positions is regularly published in the Wavelength newsletter.  Each Board member is assigned a specific area of responsibility by the Bylaws, or in the case of Members-at-Large, by the Board.  Currently these areas of responsibility are summarized below.

The President is responsible for generally supervising the business and affairs of TTSC.  The President calls and conducts meetings and acts as an ex officio member of all committees.

The First Vice President assists the President and acts for the President, if necessary. The First Vice President is in charge of fundraising, and oversees and assists the Member at Large for Fundraising.

The Second Vice President is the Meet Director and oversees and assists the Member at Large for Meet Operations.

The Secretary keeps minutes of all meetings, sends out meeting notices, and maintains custody of non-financial TTSC records.  The Secretary oversees and assists the Member at Large for Communication and Publicity.

The Treasurer collects and safeguards TTSC funds, pays TTSC obligations, and maintains the official club roster.  The Treasurer also prepares financial reports and is responsible for required tax reports.  The Treasurer is assisted by an Administrative Officer, a paid TTSC employee, who handles all of the TTSC swimmer billings.

The Past President attends board meetings and provides guidance to the Board of Directors.

Members-at-Large attend board meetings, advise the board of questions or concerns from the general membership, and perform other functions designated by the Board.

Each Member at Large position is responsible for a specific area of Club activity (as stated above). Specific roles include:

(1)  Fund Raising

(2)  Meet Operations

(3)  New Swimmer Registration

(4)  Communications and Publicity (includes Wavelength editor)

(5)  Webmaster

The Member at Large for each of these areas reports to and is assisted by another Board member.  The Board may change the responsibilities of various Board members as necessary for the efficient operation of the Club.
