Mission Statement
The Tigard Tualatin Swim Club promotes the sport of
competitive swimming in the community with emphasis on individual
progress and team unity, developing excellence as both citizens and
athletes.
Introduction
Tigard Tualatin Swim Club (TTSC) is a first class,
year-round swim program. It offers programs for
swimmers 5 years of age and up, from the beginning swimmer to the
most competitive and skilled swimmer.
History
TTSC was founded in 1970. On July 12,
1971, it held its first meeting as Tigard Aquatic Club,
Inc. The name of the club changed to Tigard
Tualatin Swim Club in 1997. TTSC is a
non-profit Oregon corporation, qualified as a tax-exempt
organization under §501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue
Code.
TTSC swimmers have swum enough miles to encircle the earth
several times. Many have contributed to
outstanding high school swim teams, and have earned college
scholarships. TTSC consistently places swimmers
among the top five in the state, and enters competitive swimmers in
regional and national competitions. In the
summer of 2000, TTSC’s first Olympic Trials qualifier, Matt
Sorlien, competed for a chance to swim on the U.S.
Olympic team.
